The web page for Mathematical Methods of Physics, which
I taught in Fall 2006, including
my lecture notes on such things as Analytic Functions, Contour Integration,
Asymptotic Methods, and Green's Functions, can be
found here.
Book Chapters
Since the book is temporarily unavailable from the bookstore,
here is a pdf version of the first
two chapters of Classical Electrodynamics, copyright 1998 by
Clarice Schwinger, Lester DeRaad, Jr., Kimball A. Milton, and
Wu-yang Tsai.
Here is the appendix on units from
Classical Electrodynamics, and
here is the appendix on units from Electromagnetic Radiation,
copyright Springer-Verlag, Berlin and Heidelberg, 2006.
Here is a pdf version of the 3rd
chapter of Classical Electrodynamics.
Here is a pdf version of the 4th
chapter of Classical Electrodynamics.
Here is a pdf version of the 3th
chapter of Electromagnetic Radiation,
on special relativity.
Here is a pdf version of the 1st
chapter of Electromagnetic Radiation,
Maxwell's equations and consequences, including variational
principles and radiation.
Additional Class Meetings
In addition to there being no class meetings on Friday, November
16 (Statehood Day) and on Friday, November 23 (Thanksgiving holiday),
we will not be meeting on Tuesday, November 27,
because I will be out of town. To make up for this absence
and two earlier in the semester, we will be meeting on the last
three Mondays of the semester: Monday, November 19,
Monday, November 26, and Monday, December 3. These meetings will take
place in Bizzell Library, Room 225, 11:00-12:30.
