Thank you....for your interest in serving as a reviewer for MERLOT/Physics. The review process is a key aspect of the MERLOT project. The goals of these reviews are to:
It is the general philosophy of the MERLOT/Physics Editorial Board to create a very broad collection of items and indicate quality through the review process, rather than limiting the collection to only what we perceive to be the best items. This is because we cannot know the diverse needs of users, and wish to provide a tool that will help meet those needs. Materials on MERLOT/Physics are checked for basic scientific soundness and operation, and those items that do not meet a minimum level of quality are removed. These pages are meant to help you understand the review process and your part in it. They are: Gen Info - General information about the review process and MERLOT, Eval Criteria - Criteria used to evaluate learning materials in MERLOT/Physics, Form - The form used in the review process, and Examples - Examples of different reviews of material with different ratings. For your efforts as a reviewer, you will receive a letter of recognition from the MERLOT project, and a yearly statement outlining your contributions. If you wish to learn more, have questions, or would like to volunteer, contact the MERLOT/Physics Chief Editors at physics@merlot.org or go to http://www.merlot.org to view the site and material and http://taste.merlot.org for more information about the MERLOT project. |
