Surfing Gravitational Waves with Pulsars

LIGO's fantastic detection of gravitational waves from
merging black holes two years ago put us squarely into the age of
gravitational wave astronomy -- something that Einstein suggested
could happen, but never thought would.  But that was only the
beginning.  Over the coming decades, just as astronomers discovered
the Universe in other wavelengths of light (like X-rays and radio
waves) in the past century, we are going to do the same with
gravitational waves.  In this talk, I'll focus on the incredibly
exotic millisecond pulsars -- spinning neutron stars whose
measurements are among the most precise in all of science -- and how
we are using them to measure the Earth riding on an ocean of
gravitational waves from the biggest black holes in the Universe.
