I will tell two stories about different effects at the interface between quantum information science and condensed matter physics. One story will be about the possibility to explore time travels with quantum computers. After a time-traveler messes with local variables in the past, quantum mechanics “heals the damage” to some degree and protects the present time from paradoxes. The other story is about thermalization in a complex but completely solvable system of interacting qubits.  The very possibility of a solvable model that describes the path to thermalization may change our views on the role of chaos and the nature of the observable irreversibility in the Universe.
