From Top Quarks to Search Relevance: One Data Point on the Interaction of Academia and Industry

The modern development of computing capacity to store, interact with, and predict results from data has enhanced the measurement and prediction of both particle interactions at an elementary level and human interactions in a software context. While the subject studied and objectives vary broadly, the tools and techniques to analyze and predict results can be markedly similar. In this talk, Dr. Bradley will discuss her transition from academia to industry and current work bringing data science and AI to the core of the world’s smartest CRM, via techniques including clustering, feature analysis, regression, neural net layers and statistical significance interpretation.
