Here is my personal Dalton Pedigree, starting from Le Sieur de Dalton, who was born about 1125 AD, up through my great grandson, Gaige Scott Dalton. The earlier birth dates are taken from parts of the "John Dalton Book" and Mrs. Francis Leaning’s "Dalton Book", and from the private genealogy files of Rodney Garth Dalton and the Dalton Family Research Group of Utah. I put this together to introduce new Cousins and members of this Dalton line and to show the first Dalton we have found. 13- ROGER DALTON, born about 1531 in Byspham Lancaster County, England, the third son of the preceding William, married Mary Ward of Lancashire and was still living 21 Jan 1580. He was the first of our Dalton line to move out of Lancashire County. He settled in the Witney, Oxfordshire area of England. Issue;

a. Walter.

14- WALTER DALTON -1^st, born 1552, in Curbridge, in the parish of Witney in Oxfordshire, Gent. In the last year of the reign of King Edward VI, died aged 67 in 1619, leaving issue by Margaret his wife (who died previously):

b. Edward, born in 1590, went to Ireland or to America.

c. Elizabeth, born in 1597, married Thomas Richard.

15- WALTER DALTON- 2nd, born in 1582 in Curbridge, Gent. Eldest son of the preceding, died, aged 68 in 1650 leaving issue by Elizabeth his wife (who died shortly afterwards):

a. Walter, born in 1603 of who as under.

b. Charles, born in 1605

c. Elizabeth, born in 1609, died unmarried.

d. Thomas, born in 1611, supposed to have gone to America.

e. William, born in 1614.

f. Andrew, born in 1616, married Rebecca Skinner of Witney 21^st Oct 1639.

g. Johanna, born in 1618, married J. Hoskyns.

The above Charles, Thomas, and William were killed at the Battle of Worcester in 1651, fighting under their relation Colonel Thomas Dalton of Thurnham, Lancashire, for King Charles II. At this battle there were ten brothers, cousins, nephews and uncles killed. The above Andrew returned to Witney and had issue, whose descendant held land at Curbridge and lived there till 1859 when William Dalton, the last of this branch, died and his property was sold and divided amongst his nieces. Colonel Dalton and his relative Colonel Hoghton were killed at the second battle of Newbury.

16- WALTER DALTON -3^rd, born in 1603 in Curbridge, Gent. Eldest son of the preceding, after the battle of Worcester, collected his property together and removed into Wales where he died, aged 63, in 1666, and was buried in the Chancel of Pembrey Church, Carmarthenshire, having issue by Jane Needham his wife who survived him:

a. Charles, born in 1639 and buried 23^rd Oct 1707, having had issue by Jane his wife, who died 1^st May 17l4, nine children of whom: none of the sons left issue.

b. Thomas, born l643, died young.

c. Ormond, born 1645, died young.

d. Walter, born 1648, died young.

e. James, born 1650, of whom as under. (RD line)

f. Johanna, born 1653, married James Butler.

Thomas, Ormond and Walter died of hardships suffered while removing into Wales with their father.

17- JAMES DALTON, born in 1650 of Caldicot in the parish of Pembrey, Carnarthenshire, Esq., 5^th son of the preceding Walter Dalton, died aged 71 in 1721 leaving issue by Joyce, his wife (who died 14^th Mar 1731, aged 84, both being buried at Pembrey:

James Ormond, of Gillyvychan, Esq., who married Ayliffe, daughter of John Edwards, Esq., of Rhydygors and left issue

come to America sometime between 1757-1760

d. Richard, Attorney at Law and Sheriff in 1729.

e. Margaret, married Anthony Morris.

f. Edward, Collector of Llanelly, had issue, John born 1706, Mary born 1707, Joyce born 1709, Margaret born 1711, Thomas born 1714, Anne born 1715, Edward born 1717 of Pool House, died 14^th Nov 1808 aged 91 years 6 months. Richard born 1719, and George born 1720. The last two both died young.
