Rules of the League
(from the new! commissioner - updated 1/19/2001)
(these are originally from the real "commish" - Paul Skierkowski)
- WHEN IN DOUBT, Commissioner rules
- Games are to 15 points, play ALL three games.
Majority winner is responsible for notifying commissioner of results
(email, phone
36123 or 325-3961x36123 from off-campus, letter, fax, fedex etc.).
NOTE: I Don't like voice mail anymore than
you do, but if you get my message, please leave your message in return.
- SAFETY GOGGLES ARE REQUIRED.
Not just glasses - PROTECTIVE
GOGGLES DESIGNED FOR RACQUETBALL.
- If a return shot hits the opponent before it hits the front
wall, it's a dead ball - regardless of whether or not it had a chance of
hitting the front wall or not.
- Balls that go out of the court are dead. Also, if it
hits the top of the back wall and luckily bounces back in, it's
dead.
- Profanity is NOT the appropriate method of expressing
emotion.
- We will conduct the single elimination "SEEDED" tournament
in two flights at the end of regular match play (or before summer ends).
The initial flight placement will be on a combination of the best
judgement of the commissioner.
The winner of the previous Commissioner's flight is required to
play in the Championship flight. Anyone in the Commissioner's
flight can request to be moved to the Championship flight before
the start of the tournament.
As before, the Walker Rule
will be utilized in 'seeding.' That is , you can't be
seeded higher than someone who's played more matches than you have.
It's an incentive Plan!
- In case of disagreements, see
Rule #1
- The semester has started, what are you waiting
for?
The Walker Rule was initially
suggested by former member Gene Walker.
