Laser Beams with Orbital Angular Momentum and their Interactions with Ultracold Atoms
We create Laguerre-Gaussian laser modes using diffractive optics. We use these beams for a number of quantum optics and atom trapping trapping experiments.
Feshbach Optimized Photoassociation
This program utilizes trapped samples of ultracold rubidium. We set up collisional resonances to enhance the production of ultracold molecules. We also develop new laser cooling technologies.
We have a program to create trapped gases of cold nitric oxide (NO).
