Homework can be turned in during class, in my office or in my mailbox. In general no late homework will be accepted. Exam Dates: (Tentative) Exam 1: Tuesday Sept 29th (7:00-9:00 PM) Exam 2: Tuesday Nov 17th (7:00-9:00 PM) (2 lectures will be cancelled during the semester since 2 lecture sessions will not be used for the exams) Final Exam: Friday Dec 18 4:30-6:30 PM (Final will be comprehensive) Required Book: Introduction to Quantum Mechanics by D. Shankar Tentative Course Outline: Review of QM I (QM in 1, 2 and 3 dimensions, Hydrogen Atom) Spin Addition of Angular momentum Time Independent Perturbation theory Variational Principle Time Dependent Perturbation theory Other topics as time allows (WKB, scattering ...)
