The Department of Physics and Astronomy can evaluate your application without the application processing fee. To do this you must send all of your application materials directly to the address above. Do not send any of your materials to another address. If you are accepted and wish to enroll, we will cover the application processing fee.

Why can't you just apply electronically?

We're trying to do you a favor. If you apply at the standard OU graduate application website, you are required to pay their processing fee. We're willing to evaluate you with no fee, covering your application cost only if you are admitted.  If you hate paper, then apply using this link to the graduate college, pay the fee, and just email us copies of the departmental forms.

OU application forms require sensitive information, such as a Social Security Number.  Federal law mandates that only certain types of computer systems can handle that data, such as those administered by our Graduate College. We don't want to risk storing that information online in our department, so we ask that you fill out the forms and mail them to us.
