Meeting Your comPADRE for Physics (and Astronomy) Teaching (and Learning)
Presented by Bruce Mason
University of Oklahoma
Do you feel like your lectures are in a rut, lacking snap and pizzazz?
Are your students looking glazed, dazed, and confused in class? Does
your instructor teach like it was the last century or perhaps even two
centuries ago? Do you feel like there are better ways to learn out
there, but you just don't have time to search them out? How would you
like to have access to a web site that has physics and astronomy
learning resources created just for your needs? That's what comPADRE
can provide for you. But wait, there's more! This online resource also
provides specialized resource collections to help support specific
communities, created, organized, and managed by experts. As a member
of comPADRE you can build your own personalized collections of
materials, share them with your friends, and contribute comments and
ratings of materials for your colleagues. You can even submit your own
best work or the work of others to make comPADRE bigger and
better. And membership is FREE! Supported by the National Science
Foundation, and run by the AAPT, APS, AIP, SPS, and AAS,
comPADRE is there to make everyone learn more physics and have a
great time doing it. Offer void where prohibited by law. It's
a good idea for us to acknowledge the NSF-DUE grants 0226129, 0532798,
0840768. Possible side effects are minor and include shortness of
breath, sweaty palms, blurry eyes, and a significant amount of time
spent playing with some really cool stuff.
