Medical Physics and the Department of Radiation Oncology at OUHSC

A medical physicist is a professional who specializes in the
application of the concepts and methods of physics to the diagnosis
and treatment of human disease. The discipline consists of the field
of therapeutic radiologic physics, diagnostic imaging physics, medical
nuclear physics, and medical health physics. The mission of the OUHSC
Department of Radiation Oncology is to provide cutting edge oncologic
care within a milieu of commitment to teaching and research. Examples
of physics and clinical research that are currently being undertaken
in this department will be highlighted.
