Repulsive Casimir Force: Non-intuitive manifestations of quantum
vacuum fluctuations

Force between two dielectric bodies is broadly termed the Casimir effect. After introducing this effect, I shall motivate why this is relevant in the design of nano-mechanical devices. I will report how these long range forces between anisotropic atoms and a dielectric can turn repulsive.
